I don’t know about you, but I love to go camping. My favorite place to get camping supplies? I find the best camping gear on Amazon, of course! I have built up my supply of camping items over the years. I basically have everything we need, but there are also some items that I still want! Below you will find must haves, wants, and kitchen items.
Best Camping Gear on Amazon
Affiliate links ahead! See disclaimer.
Lifestraw – If you run out of water, you will need, not want this Lifestraw product. I have one of these, and I would love to have several more!
Axe – It never fails you will always need a couple of blades when camping. Especially, if you are going off the beaten track. The link is to one of the best axes you can buy. A cheap axe is not worth any money you throw at it. Beware of the laws where you live, sometimes laws will stipulate if and what kind of weapons you can ship across your state lines. There are some items I have to make sure to buy in my state. Take action at your own risk.
Wool Blankets – If you are camping when it’s cold outside, a wool blanket is a must!
Tarp – Tarp can come in handy for many things.
First Aid Kit – The one I am linking to, is one that I received to review a while back. I have gotten to review a couple different first aid kits, and this one is my favorite. It is lightweight and has just the right amount of supplies!
Sleeping bag – This one is rated a low as 20ºF
Flashlight – I have one of these Streamlights and they are awesome! Not just any flashlight will do. You need something that can cut through the tree line, or light up the tree. A small cheap flashlight is fine when you are indoors, but outside there is so much more depth, it takes a powerful flashlight to cut through all that darkness. I believe this flashlight is rechargeable just like mine. Mine also has the option of strobe lighting. There are many to choose from, make sure you get one that fits your needs!
5 Gallon Water Carrier – Why is this in the must haves? Because California is out of water. Almost every single ounce has been depleted. Some large companies sucked California dry just to bottle water. How rude is what I say! Stop buying bottles of water, please. Fill up this jug at home instead of buying bottles! Get steel bottles and put those in the cooler, so you can still have cold water.
Memory Foam Camping Pillow – Forget the inflatable pillows! I can’t stand to sleep on those. Memory foam is where it’s at!
Camping toilet paper? – Yes! It is a fast dissolving toilet tissue. It will break down much faster than regular toilet tissue.Portable LED Camping Lantern with Ceiling Fan – I love the idea of having a fan. Sometimes when we camp it is hot, and the air in the tent is stuffy and gross.
Lightweight Air Lounger – These things inflate and deflate in seconds! Forget hauling all those chairs that take up space, I am thinking of getting several of these! Although, they are probably not good by the fire. 🙁
Air Mattress – If you are anything like my husband you must have an air mattress!
Sleeping Pad – Instead of using an air mattress, you can use one of these!
Microfiber Blanket – You can just bring blankets from home, or you can get one of these special microfiber blankets. They do not take up much space and are very lightweight!
Microfiber towels – Might come in handy also if there are showers or a creek where you are going. They are lightweight and fold up small.
Coleman’s 24 piece Enamel Dinner Set – I just love this set. It is a great value for the set also. It is nice to have these all packed in the camping gear instead of trying to find what you need in your kitchen as you are packing.
The best pans for camp cooking is cast iron pans. Unless you hiking far away to your camping spot, then you should get the small lightweight pans.
Over the Fire Pit Grill – Yes, you can just throw your potato wrapped in foil right into the fire, but if you are cooking soup, these grills come in handy for a place to put your pot and cook the soup!
Griddle – Forget making the soup, let’s make some breakfast!
Tea Kettle – If you prefer tea, or you can just buy a percolator and be able to make coffee or tea!
Percolator – I love these things.
Mountain House – Yum. Buying Mountain House products can help cut down on the food items you bring.
I am writing a recipe for camp soup also. Coming soon!
Marshmallow Roasting Sticks – We have to have s’mores right? Obviously, you can use some green sticks if you have a little bit of know how. That is what we usually do, but I was able to review some of these roasting sticks and I approve of them. I love how they are extendable. I hate that I have to wash them though. Phooey!
