If you haven’t had this dish yet, you are in for a treat. You wouldn’t believe slow cooking chicken and mushroom in marsala wine for a couple of hours would produce so much flavor! I assure you, this Chicken Marsala slow cooker recipe is fantastic!

A New Favorite Way to Eat Chicken, The Chicken Marsala

I am sure you already have a favorite way to eat chicken. However, you should get ready to push it aside. You will be stunned at the intensity of the rich flavor that is packed into this super simple dish! I had no idea why people were so crazy about it because it didn’t seem like it was anything special. The ingredients didn’t scream delicious. I assure you, this recipe is fantastic!

The marsala wine, does something magical, when cooked low and slow. Mm!

For this recipe you are going to need a slow cooker. I’ve used the Crock Pot Brand for many years now. However, you can use whatever brand you like. There are many companies that are now making slow cookers. I believe the Instant Pot even has a slow cooker button! I have heard mixed reviews about the slow cooker function on the Instant Pot though. Although, I have not tried it myself.

The Sauce

The sauce which is mostly made up of Marsala cooking wine ends up being absolutely divine. It is kind of like brown gravy. It is not overly thick but it is rich in flavor. Marsala chicken is wonderful served over a bed of rice.
