Are tacos a staple at your house? Well, they are at mine. In case you haven’t heard, mom makes the best tacos in town. That is what my little boys will tell you. I am sure my husband will agree! I like making my own homemade taco seasoning because it saves me money in the long run, and I can make it taste how I want it to.
The secret to making good tacos is in the seasoning, and how much seasoning you put in the meat. I put double the amount of seasoning that a packet would call for. That’s right I double up on the amazing flavor why not right?
Whats a taco without toppings?
Toppings, toppings toppings. Toppings not only help you use less of the expensive meat but they add so much depth and flavor to a taco. Our favorite topping are lettuce, cheese, diced tomatoes, and sour cream. We also like to add some refried pinto beans as a filler. We try to make frugal meals that are also blasted with flavor.
I have been ordering my herbs and spices from a company called Frontier. I started buying these from a company I worked for in the grocery industry. They always supplied great quality herbs and spices. I really like their price points, and that you can buy in bulk. You can choose from Organic or not. Just as anything the Organic tends to be much more expensive. Frontier products can be found on Amazon. I will link to their products in the recipe. These will be affiliate links!
Combine all the ingredients and mix really well.
Next you will brown the ground beef. Before adding the taco seasoning, check out how you could be stretching your ground beef!
Add taco seasoning to ground beef for the best tacos ever!
I like to add a little bit of water (a couple of Tbsps), to make the taco meat really juicy. Not too much, you don’t want it to be runny, and you don’t want it to be dry!
