One reason that I love using a slow cooker to make meals, is because when you come home from a long day at work and smell the deliciousness, it’s the best thing ever! I don’t go outside of the home to work anymore.

Most of my work is right here on the blog. I also raise my three boys, who are now mostly bigger than I am. I’m still the boss, and the cook, and the maid. I love it though. My boys do help with chores too. They are good boys!

Slow Cooker Lasagna Equipment

This recipe is for a large 8 Qt. Slow Cooker. If you only have a small slow cooker, you may have to cut the recipe in half.

Lasagna | Slow Cooker Lasagna Recipe

Cook Time: 6 hours
Total Time: 6 hours 20 minutes

This is enough for 5-7 people, you can cut it in half if you don't have that many people or a big enough crockpot. I believe I have an 8-quart slow cooker.


  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 28 oz tomato sauce (canned)
  • 2 cups mozzarella (shredded)
  • 32oz ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Italian cheese optional* (shredded)
  • 16oz lasagna noodles (oven-ready)
  • 1 tsp rosemary (dried)
  • 1 tsp oregano (dried)
  • 1 tsp thyme (dried)
  • 1-2 tsp garlic salt
  • nonstick cooking spray


  1. Lightly spray slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Brown ground beef. You can drain the grease or not.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, and tomato sauce to ground beef.
  4. Add all of the spices, and mix well.
  5. Add a layer of the beef mixture in the bottom of the crock.
  6. Add a layer of noodles. I broke mine in half and laid them as neatly as possible.
  7. Next, spread a layer of ricotta, and then sprinkle mozzarella/Italian cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers as many times as your crock will allow (Mine was 3.) BEEF, NOODLES, RICOTTA, MOZZ/ITALIAN CHEESE.
  9. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  10. Serve and enjoy. Refrigerate leftovers.

I hope you like my slow cooker lasagna recipe. If you are looking for a more traditional oven-baked recipe. I found this one for you. Her recipe looks delish, but a whole lot more work if you ask me.

I will stick to throwing it all in a slow cooker or my Instant Pot! Oh yes, I did! I made a similar recipe that you can make faster in the Instant Pot. These are both really good recipes. I think somehow the slow cooker recipe tastes better and is less work technically. However, the Instant Pot lasagna recipe is good when you don’t have 6 hours to let the food cook!
