Let’s talk about what to wear on a hike. One of the most important things about hiking is being comfortable while doing it. That doesn’t just mean wearing clothes that feel comfortable. Oh no! It also means wearing fabric that has the ability to be quick-dry, anti-chafing, soft, lightweight, and breathable!
The weather will play a big role in what I wear on a hike. Because of this I’m making a few lists, showing you a few of my favorite items during the hot months, and the cold months! We live in Florida but I grew up near the mountains and sometimes I go back home and you know I have to hit the mountains for a nice little stroll!

Whether you’re a woman, a man, or a kid, you want to be comfortable on a hike. If you’re just getting started it’s important to know the top 10 hiking essentials that you’ll need for any hike.

What To Wear On A Hike In Summertime
The best hiking clothes are comfortable, made of breathable material with wicking properties to cut down on sweat build-up, keeping you dry on your walk.

I mostly wear pants on a hike. However, if I'm going to a well-maintained trail, I may wear shorts. Here in Florida, that means, plenty of bug spray! These shorts are cute and comfortable and I love the zipper pocket in the back, and the hidden pocket perfect for keys and cash!

This is for the ladies who love the mountains. Hiking in the mountains is always an awe-inspiring adventure.
I love this shirt, it will go great with the black pants that I've linked to! Although, if you're walking on a sunny trail, black is not the color to be wearing.
These go perfect with your favorite pair of leggings. They are soft and comfortable, and I'm linking to a full-length tank top below that will go over this perfectly if you prefer to cover up a little.

It's important to have good hiking shoes of course. Depending on the weather you may need more than one pair, if you're an avid hiker who hikes year-round. Here in Florida we really only need something like this. Our winters aren't very cold and when it is cold we don't go outside. We wait until the sun returns and then we complain about how hot it is!

Whether hiking in the summertime or wintertime, it’s important to manage sweat. If you’re sweating a lot, it’s a good idea to take a break and drink some water. You want to replenish that moisture that has been lost.
Wearing clothes that keep you dry is important too. Some materials are specially made to wick moisture away from your body.
What To Wear On A Hike In Wintertime & The Cool Months Like Spring and Fall
In the winter, you want to focus on having clothes that are warm. Depending on the weather, you may want some pants that can roll up easily or sleeves that roll up easily! Because you know once you get moving you get warm. Unless it's super cold and then you need all the gear!
